Dr. Jim Ng Cheong Tin

Dr. Jim Ng Cheong Tin, or simply known as Jim by his patients (because his last name is too confusing even to him) completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Waterloo, majoring in Honours Science (BSc). He completed his Doctor of Optometry (OD) as well as his Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Vision Sciences at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. In school, he focused on primary care, binocular vision, and pediatrics. He served as president of the students of optometry servicing humanity (SOSH) chapter at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. His pragmatic approach to optometry was sharpened at: The Indian Health Services Hospital in Bethel, Alaska, the US Army Base Hospital in Wuerzberg, Germany, The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, and further honed under Dr. Bruce Wick in Houston, Texas. He completed his Wave Contact Lens Design certification and is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO).

On his downtime, Jim spends time with his family and friends. He enjoys jamming with friends and slapping the bass, being a music snob listening to vinyl records and dad-rock, a professional fauxtographer, eating mud doing Tough Mudders, is a highly decorated and accomplished beer league goalie, and is an expert in creating run-on sentences.
